CI Theme of the Term: Desirable Difficulties

Project Description:

The group project titled “অরণ্য জীবের আলোকচিত্রী” (Photographer of Forest Creatures) was completed for the course MSJ3251 Mobile Journalism during the Spring 2024 semester. The project is a Mojo (mobile journalism) story, documenting the journey of a wildlife photographer who navigates the challenges and experiences of capturing images of forest creatures. This video story highlights the photographer’s personal experiences, the difficulties encountered in the wild, and the dedication needed to pursue wildlife photography. The entire production was shot and edited using mobile devices, focusing on the theme of overcoming “Desirable Difficulties.”

Project Justification:

This project was chosen to shed light on the lesser-known but fascinating profession of wildlife photography in Bangladesh. The narrative explores the resilience, passion, and physical challenges photographers face while working in natural environments, particularly in the forests. Wildlife photography requires patience, attention to detail, and often exposes photographers to various risks. Through this Mojo story, we aimed to present these difficulties in an engaging, informative, and visually appealing format using mobile devices, aligning with the course’s objectives to explore storytelling through mobile journalism.
